"Francesca is an exceptional and innovative artist. She is able not only to create beautiful pieces of art, but also to communicate the urgency of environmental action. She has prepared various artworks for our Group companies. The experience with her on the so called "Art for Trash" initiative has been really positive. The entire team felt part of the process of creating and was positively involved in the office's rubbish collection and in the end they were also able to enjoy Francesca's beautiful mosaics, that we still proudly exhibit in our offices. I also have various pieces of her art at home and they are really unique items that enrich our home. Certainly happy to recommend Francesca's work! Great Artist and powerful eco-artivist!"
Giovanni Terranova, Partner and Founder at Bluefield Partners
I am really pleased that BLUEFIELD PARTNERS enthusiastically embraced this initiative. They are a thriving business with strong ethical and environmental values, and I could not be any prouder to have them as the first client for my pilot "Art for Trash" project through their London City office.
Helping people to understand and to get into the habit of sorting out the rubbish, and recycling properly
Stimulating re-thinking by providing a different perspective on waste: our rubbish could be someone else's treasure. It could be re-used / re-purposed / upcycled (if not reduced or, ideally, prevented)
Providing an example of cradle-to-cradle approach, suggesting the adoption of a circular economy
Adding some fun and teamwork spirit in the office - hopefully even pride in the result
Getting a bespoke artwork for the office in return. It will be nearly carbon neutral, original, hopefully striking both for the message and the material, and definitely (finally) on trend!
I ask for a flat fee of £1200 per board (£950 for former clients). This includes the costs for the whole project, from the intial visit to collections (and delivery, if within 30 miles from London).
The boards are 20x20inch (50.8x50.8cm), 2-4cm deep (+ the depth of the material added). Other dimensions are available, as long as they are transportable by public transport/electric car and by 2 people max (for environmental reasons). The price would vary proportionally.
Ideally 50% of the costs to be paid upfront, full balance at the time of delivery. Payment by bank transfer. However, I am more than happy to go by your standard terms.
Lastly, PLEASE NOTE that 10% of the amount received will be donated to an environmental charity for an environmental cause: whether Sea Shepherd, Greenpeace, Friends of the Earth, the RSPB, Extinction Rebellion or the Jane Goodall Institute UK, it will be donated to the environmental cause which I believe to be more pressing at the time of the payment.
With a view to increase its educational aspect, IT IS NOW POSSIBLE TO PAIR UP THE AfT INITIATIVE WITH A MINI COURSE ON WASTE & THE LIFE CYCLE OF MATERIALS before the collection is started in the office.
This training will be provided by Donata Magrin from Way to Eco (https://www.waytoeco.com/).
Way to Eco Ltd is an environmental consultancy based in London focusing on environmental education and waste prevention by fostering the circular economy, and Donata is a highly experienced and knowledgeable expert constantly searching for solutions to prevent waste. Her passion for the subject makes her the most suitable person for this project.

"Francesca created some absolutely amazing pieces of art for us to display in our Adobe offices in Shoreditch - all created from recycled waste that we had accumulated over around 1 month. Crisp packets, cans or drink, tea packets, etc. The artwork is showcased along one of our main corridors and are a talking point for employees and visitors. Truly recommend Francesca and her incredible talent to turn trash into art! THANK YOU"
Faye Skinner, Strategic Business Developer at Adobe
Below, pictures of when I finally managed to install Adobe's Art for Trash project "Our Waste" in June 2021, after 14 months of closed offices: 5 pieces made entirely with their office rubbish and displayed in their main corridor.
A huge satisfaction! Once again, well done Adobe for your enthusiastic participation and thank you for believing we can all make a change - starting from Our Waste!
10% of my gross income happily donated to Greenpeace UK
